Maruf, born in Bharuch and growing up in a culturally rich Sufi family has always been surrounded by, and inclined towards fine arts from his childhood. He has done his schooling from Sidhpur and did Graduation from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. And went for further studies to Hyderabad to pursue post graduate in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources, and after a stint in the Hotel Industry for about 10 years, he returned to his passion of paintings. His subjects include nature landscapes and birds, especially sparrows. He is also a corporate trainer and a visiting lecturer in the Maktabah Jafariyah Knowledge And Research Academy.
